Charlton House is an independent firm of customs duty consultants formed in 2002 by ex-Customs personnel.
The company provides advice on all aspects of customs duty management with particular emphasis on customs compliance.
Customs duty is a tax that is largely overlooked by businesses and yet it directly impacts profitability. To that extent it is a cost within the supply chain that should be analysed like any other.
It is our view that most importers overpay customs duty and with the right advice, they can ensure that this cost is kept to an absolute minimum whilst continuing to comply with all aspects of customs duty law.
What We Do Best
UP GLOBAL SOURCING
“Charlton House comprises a number of consultants with a broad range of expertise in customs law.
Initially we engaged their services to assist us with a specific project and quickly realised that they could add value in other areas of the business. They continue to provide advice in a number of areas where they have identified significant savings.
If the company cannot provide solutions that save customs duty costs, they do not charge a fee. This is a great concept and one that reflects the confidence they have in their own abilities.
I would have no hesitation in recommending their services to others.”
David Sharples – Group Management Accountant – UP Global Sourcing
“Charlton House has been the customs advisory partner for Triax UK Ltd for the last 2 years. In that time Charlton House has accurately advised us on all matters relating to customs duty and have efficiently carried out much of the work needed when dealing with HMRC in a timely manner.
We have built a strong relationship with Charlton House who have proved to be a great benefit for our business with their reliable and honest approach. I have no problem in recommending their very professional services.”
Kevin Laken – Financial Director – Triax UK Ltd.
“We were unsure at first that Groom & Partners (now Charlton House Limited) could save us any money at all, because we have agents, who do a good job in administering our duty transactions. However, we had underestimated their experience and diligence. They gave a good explanation of their methods, then studied our products and duty codes carefully, becoming very well informed about how our products work, before promising to deal with HM Revenue & Customs. We had to do very little other than to explain our procedures and to provide documentation. Apart from a few brief conversations, we heard nothing more until we received a repayment of duty in the bank.”
